[LinuxPPS] Performance of 2.6.23.12

Hi!

After looking at my ntpq -p stats for a while I see that PPS performance 
is not acceptable so far. I see an offset of more than 5 ms between my 
GPS string and the Atom driver. Additionally the jitter of the Atom PPS 
seems to be very high (more than 2ms). The same hardware configuration 
works fine with 2.6.15.1 and PPSKit Light from U.Windl.

I would be grateful for hints how I can fine tune this and where to look 
at. Is there a kernel config option I should check?
