I have a similar list, but what surprises me is that in your (and mine with
hardpps) list TWO machines seem to be the 'preferred' peer, i.e. *83.163 (with
a star) and your oATOM (127.127.20.0) :
ntpq -p
remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter
==============================================================================
oPPS(0) .PPS. 0 l 13 16 377 0.000 0.127 0.002
*freebsd .GPS. 1 u 58 64 377 0.222 0.152 0.009
+lithium .DCFa. 1 u 30 64 377 0.176 0.039 0.075
'Normally' I expect something like this:
ntpq -p ntp.oma.be
remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter
==============================================================================
LOCAL(0) .LOCL. 12 l 49 64 377 0.000 0.000 0.004
+GENERIC(0) .GPS. 0 l 43 64 377 0.000 -0.001 0.004
oPPS(0) .PPS. 0 l 11 64 377 0.000 0.000 0.005
+ntp1.oma.be .PPS. 1 u 30 64 377 2.004 -0.008 0.037
-daedalus.belnet 193.190.198.43 2 u 40 64 377 2.461 -1.176 2.466
or
ntpq -p time
remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter
==============================================================================
*GPS_ONCORE(0) .GPS. 0 l 4 16 377 0.000 -0.001 0.002
+IPv6.remco.org .PPS. 1 u 3 64 377 0.325 -0.155 0.282
ntp2.remco.org .GPS. 1 u 74d 64 0 46.662 -2.707 0.000
+dr.remco.name .DCFa. 1 u 29 64 377 0.301 -0.331 0.066
and not a list both both a '*' and 'o'
