I can add a bit more:
I am using 2.6.23pps-g9412fc58
I compile with just one serial port and only enable one in the BIOS.
Using minicom NMEA data can be read (so I've got the right port - ttyS0)
Using statserial I sometimes see 1 on the DCD pin (so the PPS is
ticking)
I use ppsctl to enable the ttyS0 port and the directory
below /sys/class/pps is occupied with pps0.
But the assert or clear never change.
